untitled, 2006, fabric on frame
I made this work especially for the window exhibition in Art Unit, Haarlem. It fits perfectly in the space of the window and was shown in combination with my hanging cathedral made of lace (see news and installations 2006). This sculpture is made of the body of a much older piece, which was never quite to my satisfaction. Just now, years later I knew what to do with it. I made the skirt and legs and changed the color of the fabric, giving the figure a light and joyfull appaerance. Or are the legs sticking out in the air helplessly, like a turtle on its back?
